Since 1986, AMURT has supported the people of Burkina Faso in projects related to healthcare and agro-ecology. We started in the isolated, northern region of Deou, where access to healthcare, water and other basic necessities is an ongoing challenge. Our initial projects focused on improving access to healthcare through the construction of the district’s first hospital and the formation of a network of trained birth attendants. In recent years, AMURT has expanded to other regions, and initiated agro-ecology programs that help farmers diversify crops and increase yields while restoring and protecting the environment.
